Collaboration with artist Ginta Sitseva

09.02.2021

In addition to painting and graphics, I am also interested in taking part in creative projects. One of such projects in 2020 was a joint work with the talented artist Ginta Sitseva "GINTA - Leather Jewellery and Gifts». Ginta creates incredible eco-leather products. Her work is not only a pure tactile and visual pleasure, but it also can be a unique personalised object.

It all started from a very typical human situation - the agony of choosing a gift for a person who already has everything he needs. Initially, I was going to purchase an already finished Ginta’s product. Therefore, I came to her studio, where I already had been numerous times and from where it was impossible to return home empty-handed. In the process of searching for a potential gift, I suddenly had an idea of a joint project - putting my drawings on a couple of leather goods. We sat down and discussed the possibility of bringing this collaboration into life. Afterwards, I headed back home feeling inspired by a new unusual idea and ready to start.

First of all, the following items were selected:

  1. a daily planner for brilliant thoughts and fateful events;

  2. a couple of bookmarks for never losing an inspirational idea;

  3. and coasters to put under a cup of hot coffee or tea that is so necessary for setting the body on accomplishments.

After the plan of action was outlined, I made the first sketches, which then went through several stages of modification until they became suitable for transferring to the leader products. When everything was printed and the finished gift set was in from of our eyes, I was astonished by how imagination and self-expression can be transferred into physical, and most importantly, very practical objects.

The collaboration between two creative persons, specialised in different areas of art, opens up a wide range of possibilities and expands horizons! You can see the details of this joint work on the photographs.
